Self Love is Universal Love

Self-love is Universal love?

Am i being selfish? Do you ever have this question? And for kind beings, its a frequent internal dailogue. In this blog, let’s clear the dilemma around being selfish and selfless; and understand why self-love is universal love.

While we are growing up, there is always confusion about what being selfish is. As kids, we usually label or not like to be with anyone who speaks for themselves or the person who says no as a selfish one. In reality, as we grow up, we find a thin dividing line between being selfish and taking care of ourselves.

It is a big dilemma for every “KIND” being and especially for those who were brought up being thought social acceptance a priority, do what many people are doing …go with the group..etc., We will be in the same understanding giving other people priority over ours until we are faced with the reality of the world “all people are not the same”. Your kindness will be taken advantage of, some knowingly and others unconsciously.

Then how is it possible to be kind/ selfless when being warm-hearted is considered a weakness? There will be many situations that will pull you to being self-centred/emotionless to others. On the contrary, It’s hard to be that harsh person when we already know Empathy & Kindness are the main traits of being human.

This starts a fight within, to be the true self or the conditioned self? There is a choice to live according to the situation, sometimes selfish, sometimes not. But it adds a lot of drama to life and moves us away from our authentic self; we don’t want the situations to define who we are and how we live.

But how can we draw a line then, Selfish & Selfless? How can I think for myself while caring for the entire Universe?

By understanding the fact that   “We are all one, but we are not the same”

How?

Let’s understand;

Are you a believer that everything in the universe is connected? I am not going to talk about any superficial things. We know from the basics of physics that we are all made up of the same source, “Energy” and we physically and every object that exists from pin to the planet is made of the same material “atoms” where everything physical is divided by the same “space”, We are all connected, and we coexist in one happening, but we are not the same; we are unique in our own ways; we have been shaped by different experiences that every one of us have had as beings.

Let’s not complicate things simply by saying we affect everyone and everything around us. A strongly negative person in the team can affect everyone around him. Any feeling or emotion we are having is like dropping a stone in the still water; it causes ripples which will travel to the ends of the shores; in the same way, our emotions and feelings will have the same effect on the entire universe in the form of vibration no matter how small.

We are different parts of the same creation called the universe. Let’s imagine the human body as the universe or the whole existence, Isn’t someone pinching your hand mean pinching you? Something happening to any part of your body is the same as happening to you, isn’t it? So as a part of universe, you loving yourselves is nothing but you loving the universe.

Whatever you do to yourselves, you are doing to the universe; whether it is love, hate, anger, guilt, or jealousy, you are feeling them as a part and, with the universe. So caring for you is not selfish; caring for you is, in turn, caring for the universe. Loving yourself is, in turn, loving the universe!

So love yourself with all you got!
